A leading health and safety consultancy has launched a handy Healthcheck for businesses to help them identify any gaps in their health and safety compliance.
Every business, no matter what size, has a legal duty to protect employees, contractors, and visitors under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, but experts at Acorn Safety Services say many companies, even well managed ones, are unaware of risk and are therefore uncompliant.
The specialists hope that the new compliance check, which can be used for free on the Acorn Safety website, will give businesses a starting point in which to pinpoint any potential issues or improvement areas.
The Healthcheck takes around three to four minutes to complete and gives businesses a quick snapshot of their Health & Safety, Fire Safety, Legionella and Asbestos arrangements.
Based on their answers, they will then receive an instant personalised action plan showing what appears to be in place, what may need reviewing, what should be prioritised and clear practical next steps.
The idea is to give clients something useful straight away, help them understand where any gaps may be, and make it easier for them to decide whether they need further support or a full compliance audit.
The consultants are also offering free health and safety audits to businesses, schools and public sector organisations, which includes a review of a company’s health and safety policy and management arrangements and confirmation of a formally appointed Competent Person.
The audit is delivered by practising consultants, who can provide clear, practical feedback you can act upon.
