More Than Just Football – Still Time To Sign Up For Fundraiser

There are just a few places remaining to play in the seventh annual Silverstone Soccer football fundraiser this summer, which last year’s winners say is about “more than just football”.

The popular charity event, hosted by leading Northampton-based leasing company Silverstone Leasing, will take place at Daventry Town Football Club on Sunday 28th June.

Businesses from across the county will go head-to-head in the tournament, which sees 12 teams don their football boots to compete for the coveted trophy and raise charity cash.

Last year’s winners, first time entrants Northampton Town Football Club, said the event is a special way to bring the community together and more businesses should get involved while they have the chance.

James Corrigan, commercial director at the Cobblers, said: “Getting involved with the Silverstone Leasing Football Tournament is a fantastic way to enjoy a fun filled day with family and friends while making a meaningful difference.

“The event brings together people from all kinds of businesses, creating a great opportunity to connect with likeminded individuals in a relaxed and enjoyable environment.

“Beyond the excitement of the matches, the tournament plays an important role in raising money for charity, helping support causes that truly matter in Northamptonshire.

“It’s more than just football, it’s about community, networking, and giving back. Whether you’re playing, supporting, or simply attending, getting involved is something we would recommend at the football club.”

This year, Silverstone Soccer is in aid of beloved local cause The Lewis Foundation, which provides free gifts and support packs to adult cancer patients in hospitals across the Midlands.

As well as the football fun, visitors can also enjoy a bouncy castle and Silverstone Leasing’s managing director Scott Norville’s renowned car wash service which helps bump up the donations.

Connor Slasberg, Head of Service Pre-Sales at Bechtle Limited, has entered a team four times over the years.

He said: “It’s raising money for a fantastic cause and it’s such a friendly event – even when the football gets a little competitive!

“It’s great to have the chance to enjoy time with colleagues outside of work and bump into connections on what is usually a nice sunny day for a great cause. The car wash is an added bonus!”

There are also sponsorship opportunities for those corporate supporters who would rather not play, which start at just £300 +VAT and include your company logo on event shirts or memorabilia.

Limited team places are still available at £350 +VAT per team, but they won’t be around for long.

Silverstone Leasing team leader and event organiser Ryan Bishop said: “We have just a few team spots left for the seventh annual Silverstone Soccer. We’re delighted to have some returning teams again but also some new entries this year to keep things fresh.

“All involvement, whether that be playing, spectating, enjoying the family fun, or lining up for a car wash is a massive support to our chosen charity, which this year is The Lewis Foundation. Giving back to the community we serve means a lot to us here at Silverstone Leasing and we hope to raise as much money as possible to help The Lewis Foundation continue with their amazing work.

“If you’d like to play in the tournament, please do get in touch quickly so you don’t miss out as places are limited.”
