Northampton-based software company Web Alliance has launched a new platform designed to help small and medium-sized construction businesses manage projects, people and costs more effectively.
WACRAD (Web Alliance Construction Rapid Application Development) has been created for growing construction companies, subcontractors, fit-out businesses and installers that want to move away from spreadsheets and disconnected software systems. The platform brings key business processes together in one place, covering areas including customer enquiries, quotations, project management, labour, stock, health and safety documentation and invoicing.
It has been developed as a more accessible alternative for SMEs that need greater control and visibility across their operations but may find traditional construction ERP systems too costly or complex.
Ashish Kumar, director of Web Alliance, said: “Construction businesses can have a huge amount of information moving between the office, project managers, teams on site, customers and accounts. When that information is spread across spreadsheets, emails and different software packages, it becomes much harder for business owners to see what is happening across their projects.
“WACRAD is designed to bring that information together and give smaller construction businesses the kind of visibility and control that has traditionally been associated with much larger organisations.”
Web Alliance was founded in Northampton in 2012 by husband-and-wife team Ashish Kumar and Iram Gilani. The business has grown from a two-person start-up operating from a family home into an international software company, with a UK team based in Northampton supported by an in-house development team in India.
Ashish added: “Northamptonshire has a strong SME community and we know many growing businesses want to improve their systems without committing to lengthy and expensive software projects. Our aim is to make sophisticated, flexible technology much more accessible to those businesses.”
WACRAD follows the launch earlier this year of WAMRAD, Web Alliance’s Rapid Application Development platform for SME manufacturers. The company is also preparing to launch WAFRAD, a platform developed specifically for franchise businesses.
WACRAD costs £300 to set up and £300 per month for up to 10 users and can typically be operational within around one week.
