Prism facilitate sale of SaaS-based manufacturing software developer, Intouch Monitoring, to Abingdon

Tech M&A specialist, Prism Corporate Broking, is pleased to announce it has facilitated the sale of manufacturing performance tracking software developer, Intouch Monitoring, to Abingdon Group.

Intouch is based in Brixworth, Northamptonshire and was founded in 1997. Intouch captures minute-by-minute production data across more than 300 manufacturing sites worldwide, providing something fundamental to effective factory AI: reliable, consistent production data. Its integrated hardware and software provide a simple way to monitor machines of any age or manufacturer, to create a common production record across the factory. By continuously capturing cycle times, tool changes, downtime and its causes, production performance and energy use, the platform builds a unique, rich historical dataset alongside live factory data.

Prism Corporate Broking (Prism) is a specialist M&A advisory that has been helping owner-managers to buy and sell businesses for over 20 years. The Prism team are experts in the tech sector including B2B software and IT services. For a number of years, Prism’s advisors worked closely with Intouch’s main shareholders – John Hardwick and Karl Edwin – as part of their Value Maximiser service. After identifying areas of the business that needed improving, Prism supported them as they implemented changes. These significantly improved the business and made it more attractive to acquirers, which ultimately lead to the sale to Abingdon.

John Hardwick, Managing Director of Intouch Monitoring, said, “Prism helped us make a lot of important changes to the business and the interest we received proved just how effective those improvements were. We are extremely happy with the Prism Value Maximiser and how they handled the sale process. We are thrilled to have backing from Abingdon to be able to accelerate our development.”

Peter Watson, Managing Director of Prism, said “We are delighted to have been able to help Intouch’s owners over the last few years. They have built a really great business and Abingdon are excellent partners to help develop the business even further, and take full advantage of the AI opportunities.”

Intouch were also supported by HCR Legal LLP (lawyers). The buy-side legal advice was provided by Merali Beedle Limited.
