The partnership between two asbestos management companies has led to the safe and speedy removal of the hazardous substance from businesses across Northamptonshire and beyond, as the specialist teams share their expertise to protect organisations nationwide.
Chart Survey Solutions, an asbestos surveying company based in St Neots, and Specialist Remediation Solutions (SRS) of Desborough, which specialises in asbestos removal and biohazard cleaning, have joined forces to deliver a thorough, reliable asbestos assessment and management service.
Director at Chart Survey Solutions, Chris Kelly, was first introduced to SRS managing director Stephen Booth and operations director Elena Paunete not long after they began trading in 2023.
Since then, the partnership has allowed several business and organisations to safely continue operations while the experts identify and remove the asbestos.
This included one Northamptonshire warehouse, in which Chris identified asbestos contamination and called in SRS, who were on site with 24 hours. This avoided a lengthy factory shutdown which can lead to production delays and have a knock-on effect on the workforce.
Chris, who also supports local charities and youth organisations through his work, said: “We work in the same industry but on different sides, we are the surveying and they are the removal. They have their area of expertise and so do we, and it’s always good to work with a trusted partner. Stephen and Elena are very good at what they do; they’re very trustworthy and reliable.
“They are very professional and there’s nothing they don’t know about the industry. They’ve never let me down and always get good feedback from clients.”
It is important to Chris to work with knowledgeable experts and only recommend people he trusts. “When I pass on their details to my clients, I know I’m keeping those people in safe hands,” he said. “I wouldn’t want to point people in the wrong direction, because asbestos is such a nasty material and there’s so many regulations that you have to go with a team that knows exactly what they’re doing and follows HSE guidelines.
“Cutting corners might save the client money in the short term, but it actually ends up costing more money to rectify the bad job and can be hugely dangerous if not removed correctly.”
SRS managing director Stephen Booth said: “We are delighted to partner with Chris and the Chart Survey Solutions team and over the years we have seen first hand what a difference our work can mean for businesses across the country, making workplaces and organisations safer for all with as least disruption as possible to operations.
“Chris is a beacon of knowledge and we are proud to have teamed up with someone who not only is an expert in his field but also cares deeply about protecting people and taking action. We hope this is a partnership that will last for many more years to come.”
