Northampton-based software development company Web Alliance has been named a finalist in two categories at the Northamptonshire Business Awards 2026. The company is shortlisted for the prestigious Customer Commitment Award, while director and co-founder Ashish Kumar is in the running for Business Person of the Year.

Organised by the Northamptonshire Chamber of Commerce, the annual awards celebrate the individuals and organisations helping to drive innovation, growth and excellence across the county. The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony at Sywell Aerodrome on Friday 11 September 2026.

Web Alliance designs and develops bespoke software systems for small and medium-sized businesses, helping them replace spreadsheets, disconnected systems and time-consuming manual processes with technology tailored to the way they work.

The company has built its approach around long-term customer relationships, working closely with clients throughout the development process and continuing to support them as their businesses evolve. Its commitment to customer service has helped Web Alliance achieve a customer retention rate of approximately 95% and an average rating of 4.9 stars.

The Business Person of the Year nomination recognises Ashish’s contribution to Web Alliance and the wider Northamptonshire business community. He co-founded the company with Iram Gilani in 2012 and has helped grow it into an established software development business supporting SMEs across a wide range of sectors.

Web Alliance has continued to invest in its Northampton headquarters, its team and the development of new products and services designed to make bespoke business technology more accessible to growing companies.

Ashish said: “Being named a finalist in two categories is a fantastic achievement for everyone at Web Alliance. The Customer Commitment Award is particularly meaningful because our clients are at the heart of everything we do. We don’t simply build a piece of software and walk away. We take the time to understand each business, involve clients throughout the development process and build relationships that continue for many years.”

“I’m also extremely honoured to have been shortlisted for Business Person of the Year. Web Alliance’s progress has always been a team effort and this recognition reflects the hard work, skill and commitment of our entire team, as well as the trust our clients have placed in us. We’re proud to be a Northamptonshire business and are looking forward to celebrating alongside so many other outstanding organisations and individuals from across the county.”

The Northamptonshire Business Awards feature 14 categories recognising achievements including business growth, innovation, customer commitment, workplace wellbeing and individual leadership.
