Independent Northamptonshire resort introduces new holiday ownership membership proposition combining an annual Whittlebury stay with exchange opportunities through RCI.

Whittlebury Park has expanded its leisure offering with the launch of Whittlebury Park Vacation Club, introducing a new 15-year holiday membership at its award winning 700-acre Northamptonshire estate.

The Vacation Club will see the development of 72 brand new apartments as part of a £16 million investment at Whittlebury, representing a new chapter for the established resort. It offers a contemporary approach to the traditional holiday ownership model, combining an annual stay at Whittlebury Park with the flexibility to exchange through global holiday exchange network RCI – with whom Whittlebury Park are Gold Crown affiliated.

Members receive one week of holiday accommodation every year for a defined 15-year term, staying in a new collection of contemporary one, two and three-bedroom apartments, sleeping up to 12 guests, currently being developed on the Whittlebury Park estate.

The proposition has been designed to combine the reassurance of an established UK home resort with greater flexibility over how members use their annual holiday entitlement.

Members can return to Whittlebury each year or choose to deposit and exchange their week through RCI, opening up opportunities to access alternative holiday destinations around the world, subject to RCI terms, availability, trading power and applicable fees.

At the heart of the proposition is Whittlebury Park itself.

Set within more than 700 acres of Northamptonshire countryside, the independent resort has an established leisure and hospitality offering encompassing an award-winning spa and leisure facilities, a 36-hole championship golf course, restaurants and bars, extensive parkland and walking access to Silverstone Circuit.

The new Vacation Club will add a longer-term membership proposition to this existing mix, with accommodation designed for couples, families and multigenerational groups.

Marc Webster, Commercial Director at Whittlebury Park explains “Whittlebury Park Vacation Club represents an exciting evolution of our leisure offering and allows us to build on what has always been at the heart of Whittlebury, bringing people together and creating memorable experiences.

“We have an established resort, an extensive range of facilities and a location that gives our guests so many different reasons to return. The Vacation Club enables us to bring those elements together within a clearly defined 15-year membership.

“Importantly, we’ve also recognised that today’s holidaymakers value flexibility. While we want our members to love returning to Whittlebury, we know they don’t necessarily want to take the same holiday every year.

“Our relationship with RCI therefore adds another dimension to the proposition, giving members the opportunity to exchange their Whittlebury week and explore other destinations when they want something different.”

The launch comes as Whittlebury Park looks to build on its established position within the UK’s leisure, hospitality and tourism sector.

Rather than focusing solely on accommodation, the Vacation Club proposition has been developed around experiences and the growing value consumers place on holidays and time together.

Its defined 15-year term is also central to the model, providing prospective members with clarity around the length of their commitment while giving them an annual holiday entitlement throughout that period.

Greg Darkes, Head of Vacation Club Sales and Membership said “The Vacation Club brings together three important elements: an established home resort, a clearly defined membership period and flexibility over how members holiday.

“For some members, the attraction will be returning to Whittlebury year after year and enjoying the spa, golf, restaurants, countryside and our proximity to Silverstone. For others, the ability to combine those Whittlebury stays with opportunities to travel elsewhere through RCI will be equally important.

“We believe that balance of familiarity and flexibility is particularly relevant to the way people want to holiday today.”
